The concrete laboratory provides the necessary testing required in assessing the quality of cement, concrete, and aggregate for the construction purpose. The laboratory is equipped with modern techniques to conduct non-destructive testing. The laboratory has the capacity to undertake field testing including core cutting & smith hammer testing. The concrete laboratory also undertakes concrete mix designs in conformance to project specification requirements. Other than that, the laboratory grants approval for different cement brands and different steel brands to be used in road projects in Sri Lanka.
